Before or after you step into our Gatlinburg restaurant, you will want to explore some of the amazing attractions around the area. Luckily, you won’t have to travel far because of our incredible location near the heart of downtown! Here are 4 things to do in Gatlinburg TN near our restaurant:
1. Hit the Trails
There is no better way to work up an appetite than by hiking some of the trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You will find hundreds of miles of magnificent hikes, featuring everything from waterfalls to historical buildings. If you are a beginner when it comes to hiking, we recommend starting off with one of the easier trails in the Smokies, such as Abrams Falls or Porters Creek Trail. For those looking for a challenge, the hike to Mount LeConte should be on everyone’s list because of the incredible views from the peak!
2. Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies
If you love animals, you don’t want to miss the chance to visit one of the most highly-rated aquariums in the United States! Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies is home to over 20,000 aquatic creatures and over 100 interactive opportunities. Be sure to take the trip to the Penguin Playhouse, where you can come nose to beak with one of the adorable penguins. You can also visit the Touch a Ray Bay to run your hand across the silky smooth back of a stingray!
3. Hillbilly Golf
There are a ton of miniature golf courses all throughout Gatlinburg, but none are as unique as Hillbilly Golf. When you arrive, you will be taken on a ride to the top of the mountain where your golfing adventure begins. They have two 18-hole courses to choose from, each offering different challenges and entertainment. As you make your way through the course, you will also be heading back down the mountain, so be sure to take a minute to appreciate the beauty of the Smokies all around you! To make things interesting, make a friendly wager that the loser has to buy dinner at our restaurant.
4. Gatlinburg Space Needle
For a unique view of the Smokies, you don’t want to miss a trip to the top of the Gatlinburg Space Needle. This 407-foot tower is the centerpiece of downtown and one of the most popular things to do in Gatlinburg TN. To get to the observation deck, you will ride in one of the glass elevators, which is an incredible experience on its own. From there, you can tour the scenic overlook and take in the gorgeous sights of Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains. There are also Higher Learning exhibits around the platform so you can learn more about all the individual peaks you can see.
