Black Bear Brownie Bash

Posted in What's New, on 19 October 2015, by , 0 Comments

Here are five ways to really Enjoy October in the Smokies.

  1. Slow Down
Too often, we are quick to rush through this beautiful month without embracing one of Mother Nature’s greatest gifts. In October, the Great Smoky Mountains are alive with color, music, excitement and celebrations, of course. Be sure to check for special events in and around Gatlinburg, TN.
  2. Change Your View
The latest Fall Color Report suggests the leaves will continue their beautiful transition for a few more weeks, but it depends on the elevation. We encourage you to drive up and find your favorite spot such as Clingmans Dome, then enjoy your slow descent back into town where we’ll be waiting with a wonderful dinner for you.
  3. Check the Weather
Take a hike, literally! Just be sure to check the weather first and dress accordingly. Afterward, stop by for some refreshments. If there’s a chill in the air we can warm you up with a Hot Chocolate. If the sun is heating things up outside take a refreshing break with our Sweet Iced Tea.
  4. Get Crafty
The annual Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair lasts through most of October and features almost 200 displays from some of the nation’s finest artisans. It also features live country and bluegrass music. These talented folks not only have their crafts available for purchase they put on demonstrations also.
  5. Savor the Flavors
In addition to the rich sights and sound, October offers Gatlinburg visitors some great flavors. Stop by and have a slice of Peanut Butter Mud Pie or our famous Black Bear Brownie Bash. When you visit The Park Grill, snap a photo of your meal and share it on social using #GatlinburgEats and you could win a Gatlinburg Vacation from Gatlinburg.com.

We hope these simple tips help you Enjoy October in the Smokies and we hope to see you soon! On your next trip, be sure to use our convenient Call Ahead Seating, (865) 436-2300, Ex. 104

Fall In Love With the Smokies

Posted in What's New, on 17 September 2015, by , 0 Comments

Autumn in the Great Smoky Mountains is a breathtaking and mouth-watering experience!

The leaves begin to change in September and the landscape evolves little by little, day by day, throughout the autumn months. This change begins at the highest elevations and travels down into the valleys throughout the season. It is expected that this year, the autumn colors will peak around the first of October at high elevations, and continue to evolve throughout the month to lower elevations. Because the Smokies feature a wide range of elevations, it is likely that you will see a spectacular array of fall colors whenever you visit this fall.

Even as the days get shorter, Gatlinburg promises endless adventure and fun. Fall in love with the Smokies all over again as Gatlinburg overflows with the irresistible colors, sounds and flavors of autumn.

Savor the rich flavors of fall here at The Park Grill. Enjoy your favorite harvest-time sides like Squash or Sweet Potato Casserole, or a baked Sweet Potato covered in warm Maple Butter. Pair any one of these with your favorite main dish and remember to save room for dessert! Settle in with our S’mores Brownie that will have you dreaming of a cozy fall campfire or spoon up our Hot Blackberry Cobbler served with vanilla ice cream.

In addition to the fantastic fall flavors at The Park Grill, Gatlinburg comes alive in autumn like no other season. We invite you to join in the celebrations highlighting Appalachian culture. Craft fairs, food festivals, concerts and parades fill the calendar as the mountains are transformed by nature’s paintbrush. The beautiful scenery paired with chilly, sunny days provides the perfect backdrop to days spent hiking and exploring the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The Park Grill holds close ties to the mountains; these fall days are the ones we long for all throughout the year. The Great Smoky Mountains have a way of bringing people together – family, friends, and strangers alike – to appreciate the beauty of autumn in the South. The Park Grill extends our warmest welcome to you and your loved ones this fall, and we look forward to serving you a warm meal and a chance to relax and breathe in the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains.
